Music concerts and entertainment events of the festival have been canceled

Music concerts and entertainment events included in the 22nd International Istanbul Büyükçekmece Culture and Art Festival program were canceled due to fires in 63 regions in 21 provinces of Turkey.

“Our pain is too big”

The International Istanbul Büyükçekmece Culture and Art Festival Committee held a meeting. After the meeting, Dr. Hasan Akgün, the mayor of Büyükçekmece and the president of Festival Committee made a statement and said: “Dear citizens, dear art lovers, the forest fires in our country continue in 63 regions in 21 provinces. Many living creature lost their life. Our pain is too big. I am sorry for our loss. As a result of the consideration we made with the Festival Committee, the artistic parts of our festival will continue. However, music and entertainment events have been completely canceled as of yesterday. I would like to declare to everyone that we will do our duty together with Büyükçekmece Municipality and Büyükçekmece family regarding afforestation to be made in fire areas.
