Garbage containers are being renewed in Büyükçekmece

Büyükçekmece Municipality is implementing the modern waste container system, which is applied in European cities, in Büyükçekmece.

The galvanized garbage containers in the district are removed by the municipal teams and the on-the-ground garbage containers, with a capacity of 3 thousand liters and opened with a pedal, are installed.

The new on-the-ground garbage containers, which are opened using both hands and foots via a pedal, were placed in Büyükçekmece center, Sinanoba, Mimaroba, Tepecik, Türkoba and Muratçeşme neighborhoods.

"Prevents both image and noise pollution”

Stating that the new pedal garbage containers will be placed in all neighborhoods in the district, Büyükçekmece Mayor Dr. Hasan Akgün said, “The garbage water will no longer leak out.  New garbage containers prevent both visual and noise pollution. Citizens will be able to throw their garbage by pressing the pedal without touching the containers ”.
